I have learned now, that the /run directory is recreated after each reboot, so after that, the pid files from removed packages do not get installed.
But I find it cleaner, when created files (directories) are removed with the removal of packages, so that they do not raise questions as long as the computer is not rebooted. -- Bjarni I. Gislason
