Package: chromium Followup-For: Bug #941060 It's a real shame that chromium's built in mechanism had to be triggered in order for the typical debian users to understand how far behind debian's chromium is. I had opened this bug report 1+ month ago and yet the "advocates" of this bad situation said that the devs need time etc. Time is up as it seems and the package needs to be updated asap!
Of course, as I have read in other bug reports and on reddit, there are workarounds to this, but the real issue remains: chromium on debian is not updated as regularly as it used to and that is a major security issue. As I said above, I moved to chrome the next day 78 became available, so this is the last bug report on chromium I open and reply to. Last time I had chrome on my systems, google was still offering it as a 32bit package and firefox was on 3.x! Shame. p.s. Debian pts MUST get a "flag as out of date" button. Or a better way to "wake up" the maintainers who keep their packages unmaintained for more than a period of time after which issues arise. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.3.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=ERROR: ld.so: object 'libgtk3-nocsd.so.0' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored.
