I have now created a merge request for this change, as I'm still frequently bitten by this bug https://salsa.debian.org/debian/ifupdown/merge_requests/7 I have also done a local backport to the stretch version (straightforward, but a bit of context is changed so it is easier to redo). @Guus: What do you think of this?
