There is indeed no (source or binary) package with name src:linux. Reportbug could be smarter here and recognize the "src:" prefix. The additional information is gathered from bug scripts shipped in binary packages. In order to execute such a script, the bug must be filed against the binary package. When reporting a bug against a source package, reportbug does not have sufficient information to know which bug script to execute. I think that most of the bugs you have in mind were probably originally filed against a binary package built from the linux source package, then reassigned to src:linux.
