Can you reproduce this with wxmaxima 19.07.0-1.1 (the version currently
in unstable and testing)? That's the version that switched to using the
GTK3 flavour of wxWidgets.
I have multiple monitors and I can't reproduce with this version, though
I use Mate not GNOME 3 so it could be something specific to the desktop
environment.
