I wasn't aware of AC_SYS_LARGEFILE. Thanks to Pali Rohár for pointing this out. I confirm that after adding it to configure.in, my proposed testcase succeeds on armhf. (It also is nice that I can just cross build mtools from amd64 out of the box to test for this.) Please add AC_SYS_LARGEFILE to configure.in. Helmut
