I'm not sure doing this by default is a good choice. Seems like this sort of thing -- disrupting everybody's interfaces and particular configurations -- should be opt-in rather than opt-out. Trying to (ab)use the wireguard metapackage as a "switch" for this seems suboptimal. People want the wireguard metapackage for easier installation, but that doesn't mean they should also get opted in to this behavior. Can we come up with a real configuration method for this that doesn't involve the metapackage and is off by default?
