The package should include /etc/logrotate.d/gitlab to rotate logs. However, then the permissions on /var/log/gitlab and /var/log/gitlab-shell also need to be changed in order to prevent this security bug: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/omnibus-gitlab/issues/4380
