This affects the version from debian-stable.A workaround is to use the version installed from the Snap Store which works as expected. This is available via Gnome Software by:
1. $sudo apt install gnome-software-plugin-snap 2. Open Gnome Software, allow it to restart and update, then search for FreeCAD. Select the version where the source is "Snap Store" and install.
