Thank you for taking the time to report this! The helper service is being slowly phased out in favor of the native .conf support in SMCRoute. It'll likely be removed in a future release (nothing set in stone). So migrating to that is recommended. However, until that day it should of course work as intended.
I've fixed the issue in the Debian Salsa GitLab, so any patch release we push out will include a fix. But I honesly don't think we'll push a new release just for this little one unless more people chime in. Best regards /Joachim
