Thanks for this example. We can actually use codesearch to get a crude
idea of the prevalence of this:

Any input on whether a brute grep for "-Wl,--as-needed" in debian/
rules would be sufficient to catch most instances of these? (Feel free
to drop moreinfo tag upon replying.)
