Would you mind please filing this upstream at https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/, and then we can mark it forwarded here? It's not something we're going to change specifically in Debian. While I could file it upstream on your behalf, it's often better if the original reporter does so, because then upstream developers can talk to you directly rather than me having to be an inefficient go-between if there are any questions or disputes.
