Package: graphviz Version: 2.8-1 Followup-For: Bug #360974 I wanted to report this bug, too. Here is some information I could find out about the bug:
currently the package installes a broken symlink in /usr/lib/graphviz/python/_gv.so apparently the problem is that upstream's configure checks for python2.4, but the default version of python is 2.3, even in unstable, so configure won't find the python headers, even if the necessary python2.4-dev, etc. packages are installed. Doing $ export PYTHON=python2.4 before running configure fixes this. (but the installed python module is not 2.4 specific, that is, it can be imported from python2.3, which I guess is a bug in itself.) -- Abel Daniel -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=hu_HU (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Versions of packages graphviz depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libexpat1 1.95.8-3 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libfontconfig1 2.3.2-1.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.10-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libice6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-11 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libltdl3 1.5.22-4 A system independent dlopen wrappe ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-5 PNG library - runtime ii libsm6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System protocol client li ii libxaw7 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Athena widget set library ii libxext6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxmu6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous util ii libxpm4 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X pixmap library ii libxt6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii tcl8.4 8.4.12-1 Tcl (the Tool Command Language) v8 ii tk8.4 8.4.12-1 Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.4 - ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-9 compression library - runtime graphviz recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
