This seems to be solved already by upstream: https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/9832 Maybe you can try gajim from Debian experimental? You might like to backup your configuration and data before that! I'm not sure, whether a downgrade would work smoothly. Thank you!
