You don't have to upload broken packages to unstable. You can wait till less.js lands in unstable to upload your changes to experimental. The idea is to give you a chance to fix your package before it actually breaks.
Also please don't close bugs before the package is uploaded. I can sponsor it after you prepare a changelog for the new version. Please close the bugs in the changelog, this helps us keep track of fixed versions.
