please note that, if all goes as planned, next week we'll upload python3 mercurial to unstable, which will allow mercurial-keyring to migrate to python3, which in turn will allow python-keyring to drop python2 support, which in turn will allow setuptools-scm to drop python2 support (as it will only have a circular depends on python-py, which as well could drop its python2 support). Maybe it's worth waiting a little longer with this work?
