[...] I have started on planning a revision of the IPP-over-USB content on the wiki. Much of what you wrote (and I have snipped) is part of the plan's outline. However, it has helped to focus my mind. Thank you very much for the input. I hope to have something in place during this coming week. A item in the Release Notes for bullseye is a must and has been drafted, but it awaits the decisions OdyX will make regarding this bug. It will be first be submitted for review on -printing at an appropriate time. I wonder how OdyX would view a NEWS item and/or a READMR.Debian for the cups or ipp-usb packages? Have I missed anything? Documentation isn't a complete panacea, but it at least gives something to point to. > sane-escl is built-in in the sane-backends package from version 1.0.29 on, > so it is most probably available. I rather like sane-airscan and intended to draw users attention to it. It appears that there is a transition from libsane to libsane1 taking place on Debian. Once again, your information is most valuable. > > Recommends: ipp-usb | ippusbxd is an option that does not seem to benefit > > a Debian user. ippusbxd is supported upstream but there may be plans for > > its future we are unaware of. But it does give OdyX more work to do. :) Regards, Brian.
