Hi commenting : dma_speed = get_dmaspeed(scgp, dp); (line 680 in cdrecod/cdrecord.c in cdrecord_2.0+a34-1) make the bug disappear on my MSI drive.
I will post a last test with this function commented in the latest release of cdrecord. And hopefully narrow the problem to a call in this function. This function did not existed in cdrtools-2.0+a30.pre1. I hope we can have a workaround in sarge if the kernel bug is not fixed by then (there is already a switch to enable experimental features in cdrecord maybe this call could be protected around this). Though as cdrecord is the only application that show this bug it won't happen if we don't tell them. Maybe the bug could be retitled , it does not only happens with cyberdrive cdrecorders.
