This bug report was originally about ability to build libccfits-doc, but it appears that package builds fine with a patch to adjust to more strict markup parsing in newer Doxygen: https://sources.debian.org/src/ccfits/2.5+dfsg-2/debian/patches/03-doxygen-fixes.patch/ so maybe "doxygen-latex is now useless" is just not true, and the bug can be closed, or retitled and downgraded to non-RC? If similar changes are not available, what would you suggest that the maintainers of those packages do to meet the basic requirement that they're buildable? Should they respond to the FTBFS by dropping PDF documentation and only producing HTML, while leaving PDF documentation enabled in packages where it happens to work OK? (Or should they be dropping the PDF documentation preemptively, even if it happens to work now?) smcv
