this is a comment from upstream.
beast-0.6.7 (or -0.7.0) will fix gcc-4.1 issues, but it may still take a
while until it's released.
allthough in upstream we fixed the issues at hand in a different way,
the proposed patch looks good and can be applied to fix the debian
beast-0.6.6 package until beast-0.6.7 is released.
