Package: bootcd
Version: 2.52
Severity: important

Hello,

bootcdwrite fails on amd64. I run a standard debian kernel on amd64
etch.
Linux deb64a 2.6.15-1-amd64-k8 #2 Tue Mar 7 06:53:26 UTC 2006 x86_64
GNU/Linux

First I created the symbolic links /vmlinuz and /initrd.img since
bootcdmkinitrd and bootcdwrite complain otherwise.
deb64a:~# ls -l /vmlinuz
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 31 2006-04-12 ... /vmlinuz ->
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-1-amd64-k8
deb64a:~# ls -l /initrd.img
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 34 2006-04-12 ... /initrd.img ->
/boot/initrd.img-2.6.15-1-amd64-k8

Then I run bootcdmkinitrd and got this output:
deb64a:~# bootcdmkinitrd | tee bootcdmkinitrd.out
Warning: this script assumes the following:
- the running kernel is the one that will be used on bootcd
- initrd is used
Warning: this script will do the following:
- /etc/mkinitrd/ will be changed.
- mkinitrd will be called. This will change /initrd.img.
- your bootloader will be called.

Using grub
ls: /lib/modules/2.6.15-1-amd64-k8/kernel/drivers/usb/usbcore.*o: No
such file or directory
/usr/sbin/mkinitrd: The working directory /tmp/mkinitrd.PPZ5p9 will be
kept.
/usr/bin/ldd: line 171: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: No such file or directory
ldd: /lib/ld-linux.so.2 exited with unknown exit code (127)
new initrd for kernel version "2.6.15-1-amd64-k8" created.

Finally I run bootcdwrite and received this output:
To see full output: tail -f /var/log/bootcdwrite.log

deb64a:~# tail -n 2
/var/log/syslog

I guess at least a part of the problem are the pure 64bit system
and the different lib names.
