Package: thunderbird
Version: 1:78.3.1-2~deb10u2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
Upgrade of thunderbird 1:68.12.0-1~deb10u1 -> 1:78.3.1-2~deb10u2
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Importing an ics file via Events and Tasks -> Import...
An example is the following simple file:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR
VERSION:2.0
PRODID:-//hacksw/handcal//NONSGML v1.0//EN
BEGIN:VEVENT
UID:[email protected]
DTSTAMP:19970714T170000Z

DTSTART:19970714T170000Z
DTEND:19970715T035959Z
SUMMARY:Bastille Day Party
GEO:48.85299;2.36885
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR
* What was the outcome of this action?
The import fails, the error console shows:
Import error: TypeError: proxy must report the same value for the non-writable,
non-configurable property '"addItem"' import-export.js:211
putItemsIntoCal chrome://calendar/content/import-export.js:211
importRemainingItems chrome://calendar/content/calendar-ics-file-
dialog.js:218
_fireButtonEvent chrome://global/content/elements/dialog.js:487
_doButtonCommand chrome://global/content/elements/dialog.js:466
_handleButtonCommand chrome://global/content/elements/dialog.js:460
_handleButtonCommand self-hosted:844
loadEventsFromFile chrome://calendar/content/import-export.js:37
InterpretGeneratorResume self-hosted:1151
AsyncFunctionNext self-hosted:693
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Successful import of the ics file.
This bug renders an important part of the calender functionality of thunderbird
unusable.
Best regards,
Robert
