I am sorry for the ~3 weeks that have passed since you reported this bug. I do intend on fixing it in my next upload, and I do intend that upload to happen soon; I have been quite busy, but am working on the package now. Before uploading a new package version, I want to upload a backport for Buster of this package, so that stable users won't have to bring in packages from testing/unstable. Once it is accepted in backports, I will prepare a new upload including the fix you suggested (commit 4cf86b3). Thank you,
