QSynth lets the user select a Sample rate, even when using the jackd
driver. The result is that if the Sample rate does not match jackd's,
the pitch of the sound is altered.

I think that the Sample rate (and probably the Sample format, for that
matter) should be disabled when the jackd driver is selected, and their
values be automatically set.
