libvpx is between releases and currently too old for chromium.

It's possible that openh264 is required for Webcodecs support. When building
ungoogled-chromium I used the bundled version, as an official debian package 
doesn't exist (although there is a 'deb-multimedia' one).

However, it remains to be seen if openh264 is strictly necessary, and it 
could probably be patched out.

If anyone wants to take a look, someone's posted about working to update
