I'm happy to do or sponsor an NMU if the need arises, although if Gunnar
plans to be back in January, I don't think there's an urgency at the moment.

In any case, I guess the most reasonable course of action would be only
do "new upstream versions", that is, only changes coming from upstream.

Getting to know Debian packaging is great if you also want to contribute
to other areas in Debian (in which case, feel free to ping me if you
need a sponsor!).

However, if you'd rather like to focus on the vmdb2 and autopkgtest
themselves, rather than the packaging, I'm happy to build and host
packages for you :-)

Best,
Christian
