Good news,
Recently began having problems with dvd symlinks.
Bug #323282 provided a suggestion by Anders E. Andersen to rm -r
/etc/udev (after making a backup copy for local rules), purge the the
udev package, & reinstalling udev. Once I had done this & rebooted the
symlinks were correct & the network worked as expected automagically.
