There are multiple reasons why this is a bad idea - and even if not, this is definitly not a change appropriate at the latest minute before sarge. It is still not proven that this error can be reproduced w/o using root privileges - and even than, it's at maximum possible to deny some service. For this reason, I'll lower priority now, and add unreproducible.
