Thank you for your report. setterm only sends so called "escape codes" to the terminal to change these settings. The current Linux virtual terminal driver does not seem to support changing the volume. Reassigning to linux, as implementing this would need to start there. If you think this is an important feature, I would however suggest engaging the Linux virtual terminal driver maintainers directly. Chris
