Ummmm. Kubuntu is very much maintained as a tiny variation from Ubuntu, using the same kernel, grub, shim, etc. AFAIK Devuan is *not* doing the same style of variation from Debian? In that case, Devuan should absolutely *not* be installing things in the ESP under /EFI/debian but should switch everything to /EFI/devuan instead.
