Hi This is not Debian specific, but decided to fill the bugreport to make aware of interest of such support. This raised in at least https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1715195 and upstream in https://github.com/shadow-maint/shadow/issues/154 which has now an implementation as https://github.com/shadow-maint/shadow/commit/8492dee6632e340dee76eee895c3e30877bebf45 .
