Just to be clear, the card does not work during install too, right? Or does it? From some searching on the web I get the impression that the upstream kernel just contains a pretty outdated version of the Marvell driver, and the only solution I can offer at this point is to try the latest version of the driver, available from www.marvell.com. You'll probably have to build a custom kernel for that.
