If you follow the discussion I linked when opening the bug as [3]
you'll find more.
But the TL;DR is that sgdisk/gdisk always (and still) write the
labels/names byte-swapped on s390x (or probably in general big
endian).

So I'd suggest to not revert the change, and instead wait for a fix to
the write code-path that then should be applied.
