Hi, a chroot created using fakechroot is currently bit-by-bit identical to a chroot created with normal root privileges except for the empty file /etc/.pwd.lock missing from the chroot created with fakechroot. This is because fakechroot wraps lckpwdf as a no-op: https://github.com/dex4er/fakechroot/issues/94 This patch fixes the problem: https://github.com/dex4er/fakechroot/pull/95/commits/11589e1037372c5ad719e1e46d7462fd196caa56 Since this difference affects my package mmdebstrap, I would offer to NMU fakechroot again.
