Is this only affecting geeqie, or are you seeing it on other programs that use the clutter library?
You can find these by a command like sudo apt-cache rdepends libclutter-1.0 - examples are gnome-2048 or empathy. It would be interesting, because if you see the same problem on other programs it's a clutter-specific problem, and I can reassign this bug to the clutter library.
