I've now done buster-to-bullseye upgrade tests after first installing my patch, both with and without deliberately breaking whiptail/dialog, and it behaves as expected in both cases. (As explained in my original bug report, it doesn't actually fix the upgrade issue in #994042, but would fix other similar situations if we run into just the wrong ordering.) -- Colin Watson (he/him) [cjwat...@debian.org]
