Hi Sophie, I have made this a Recommends rather than a Depends because procps is not essential for the normal running of snmpd. Most people would have procps installed so now we are down to a corner case of 1) Not having procps installed 2) Having snmpd installed 3) warning to run net-snmp-create-v3-user
which is not that a common combination I'd expect. Recommends means "it really should be there but if you don't want to install it then that's ok". - Craig On Fri, 10 Sept 2021 at 00:27, Sophie Brun <sop...@offensive-security.com> wrote: > Package: snmpd > Version: 5.9+dfsg-3 > Severity: minor > User: de...@kali.org > Usertags: origin-kali > X-Debbugs-Cc: sop...@offensive-security.com > > Hello, > > /usr/bin/net-snmp-create-v3-user uses the command "/bin/ps". > I think procps should be a dependency of snmpd. > > Thanks > Sophie > > -- System Information: > Debian Release: bookworm/sid > APT prefers testing > APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') > Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) > > Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-8-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads) > Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE > Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE > not set > Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash > Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) > LSM: AppArmor: enabled > > Versions of packages snmpd depends on: > ii adduser 3.118 > ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.77 > ii init-system-helpers 1.60 > ii libc6 2.31-17 > ii libsnmp-base 5.9+dfsg-3 > ii libsnmp40 5.9+dfsg-3+b1 > ii lsb-base 11.1.0 > > snmpd recommends no packages. > > Versions of packages snmpd suggests: > pn snmptrapd <none> > > _______________________________________________ > Pkg-net-snmp-devel mailing list > pkg-net-snmp-de...@alioth-lists.debian.net > https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-net-snmp-devel >
