I had this exact problem, which went away when I installed the x font server.
apt-get install xfs I am running debian testing/unstable current as of today. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
