Debian is an Universal operating system, from which some other distributions derive, which have different objectives, for instance Apertis [1].

In the context of embedded devices the use of busybox is quite common, since it provides the basic support for several GNU tools, with lower footprint and much friendlier license.

Under this context, and since it the change I mention should not cause any issue in Debian, is that I think it could be beneficial for also other users/downstream distributions.
