See attached file. I've just installed lm-sensors without problems
on almost the same PC (Compaq Proliant 1850R), although
not tried to use them yet. The only difference between the PCs
is absence of one CPU in the PC with failed lm-sensors install.

Note that I tried both smp and non-smp kernels. The attached log
was generated with non-smp kernel.

Ok, the problem seems to be with ucf. Could you please to run as root:
'ucf -v --debconf-ok --three-way /usr/share/lm-sensors/sensors.conf.eg /etc/sensors.conf'
