Looking at the build log, it seems to generate alot of warnings
that indicate 64 bit portability issues. There are lots of
warnings of this type:
warning: passing arg 2 of `strcpy' makes pointer from integer without a cast

Alpha has the same warnings in it's build log.

I tried to run cmdtool and textedit on amd64, and they both
showed a segmentation fault.

I doubt it's going to work on alpha either. I couldn't find
anybody to test this on alpha, but I suggest you try.
