As far as I can tell, this is done by intention: it's not a system providing user access by default. From the documented profile description: (see: https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Documentation/Bookworm/Installation#The_installation_process ) This profile will install the base packages and configure the machine to integrate into the Debian Edu network, but without any services and applications. It is useful as a platform for single services manually moved out from the main-server.
