Hi Andreas, it has been a long time since you opened this bug report. Are you (or anybody else) still interested in this feature?
In the recent months I've started helping to maintain this package and contributed a bit to the PCRE2 port. Now, the patch doesn't apply anymore. However, if there is interest in this feature, I am happy to apply (and perhaps help with) an updated patch. Best regards, Andi
