Dear Maintainer, In the latest version (0.61.0-1), meson fails to build vala files when the 'metadata_dirs' option is specified. This is due to a typo in upstream code causing an unrecognized option to be appended to the 'vapigen' command line. This bug has been fixed upstream[1] and the corresponding patch should be backported while waiting for the next point release.
