Package: ntpdate
Version: 1:4.2.0a+stable-8.1
Severity: important

Hello,

I run ntpdate like this:

# /usr/sbin/ntpdate -u -b -v -p 8 ptbtime2.ptb.de
 2 May 09:36:22 ntpdate[8436]: ntpdate [EMAIL PROTECTED]:4.2.0a+stable-8-r Fri
Oct 28 15:39:50 CEST 2005 (1)
2 May 09:36:31 ntpdate[8436]: no server suitable for synchronization found

Looking at the interface (I'm on dial-up), I get a number of these
before the second message above appears:

This is with Linux kernel 2.4.27. I currently don't know how to fix this.

The ptbtime[12].ptb.de are the (government) official time servers here in
Germany.
