freebsd-manpages maintainer: Do you think it would be possible to
remove that manpage from your package? I do not want our packages
conflict (it does not do the same task), and it would be pointless to
use the alternatives system for manpages. If it's possible, please
remove the manpage from freebsd-manpages. In eighter case, please
reply asap (directly to me too).
how come you use ipfw.4 as a name
$ dpkg -L ipchains |grep ipfw
/sbin/ipfwadm-wrapper
/usr/share/man/man4/ipfw_chains.4.gz
/usr/share/man/man4/ipfw-ipchainsalternative.4.gz
/usr/share/man/man8/ipfwadm-wrapper.8.gz
/usr/share/man/man8/ipfwadm-ipchainsalternative.8.gz

lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   27 Sep 27  2005 /usr/share/man/man4/ipfw.4.gz ->
/etc/alternatives/ipfw.4.gz
could you not just remove the symlink or rename it to ip_fw? i don't know...
i'll check with #gnu-kbsd on irc.gnu.org

yours,
gürkan
