I can still observe these error messages in version 2.0.11-1. They are AFAIK caused by a missing `delaycompress` stanza in `/etc/logrotate.d/mosquitto`. Without `delaycompress` logrotate always tries to compress files immediately while there still opened by mosquitto. Adding `delaycompress` delays the compression to the second rotation, effectively preventing gzip errors. Best, Maximilian
