Thanks, David, for the pointer. It seems this is what upstream did, i.e. both vendored modules have been updated in recent versions, and when I take current upstream v1.24.1 and apply the current Debian packaging it manages to create a kubernetes-client...deb whose kubectl binary doesn't suffer from this particular segfault anymore. The other tests which I conducted in #1000980 still succeed as well, so apparently packaging the current upstream "simply" fixes this issue here. Cheers, Flo
