I have a very simple fix for this problem. I don't know if the fix for some reason is not acceptable - but at least it is working: Simply add libxaw-headers to the build-depends. That's where the X11/Xaw/Paned.h file lives, after all, according to Contents-i386.gz. And I know the solution works - I built it in an updated unstable "pbuilder" on May 2nd. And I am using the resulting emacs each day! best regards -- Peder Chr.
