the package has "debian" in its name so I think it's fair to assume that a
setup for ubuntu is not in its default scope.

But maybe you can prepare a sensible patch and either send it to this bug or as
a merge request on https://salsa.debian.org/debian/sbuild as suggested by
Michael?
